- Mexican researchers from Universidad Veracruzana develop technology in artificial lift systems to optimize mature oil wells.
The research advances in Jet Hydraulic Pumping, nuvoil group´s project in Mexico, have developed an option for innovation and Social Responsibility at Universidad Veracruzana.
In April, UV carried out the second edition of the “Relevant UV Engagement Forum”, a space that seeks to build lines to strengthen the connection of students with the professional field.
Researchers and students received recognition in the thematic line of Innovation and Social Responsibility, among more than 100 papers presented.
In the aforementioned forum, the students and researchers of the project entitled “High Performance Mechatronic System Integrated to the Process of Jet Hydraulic Pumping Extraction for the Exploitation of Mature Oil Wells” made a presentation that obtained the second place and stood out for being the unique linked to the oil and gas industry.

PhD. Rogelio de Jesus Portillo Velez, PhD. Pedro Javier García Ramírez and PhD. Jose Alejandro Vásquez Santacruz
PhD. Pedro Javier Garcia Ramírez, UV researcher and project leader, proudly expressed: “The results are promising as a success story of the academy-industry binomial.”
Mariano Hernández Palmeros, Chairman of the Board, said:
“This way, Mexican nuvoil group´s commitment to innovation and social responsibility is consolidated through encouraging local talent from Veracruz connected to the development of patentable technology.”
nuvoil offers the JetPump solution to its customers, the most versatile of the artificial lifting systems with a high added value through research and development.
Currently, the group has presence all over the Gulf of Mexico, it started operations in the Pacific and has aligned its strategy to the United Nations Global Compact.
