• The purpose of the  Generation Equality Campaign #OrangeTheWorld of United Nations is to  amplify the call to world action with the aim of remedying the funding gaps, ensuring essential services for survivors of violence during COVID-19 crisis and focusing on prevention and collection of data that can improve the services to save women’s and girls’ lives.


  • The corporate management based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) creates new business opportunities, and it is an opportunity to make a difference by training and informing the staff and management on gender-based violence topics during the current COVID-19 pandemic and the prolonged state of crisis it has caused around the world.

Nuvoil joins the campaign #OrangeTheWorld promoted by the Global Compact

In the framework of November 25th, International Day of Elimination of Violence against Women, Nuvoil as a company adhered to the UN Global Compact joined the campaign named “Únete para poner fin a la violencia contra las mujeres y las niñas (Join to End Violence Against Women and Girls)”, which consists of 16 days of activism, promoted by United Nations and UN Women, contributing to the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) #5.

The activities of the 16 days of activism against gender violence promoted by the United Nations System had the following slogan this year: “Orange the World: Finance, Respond, Prevent, Collect,”

The intention was to promote the following actions:

  • Finance: guarantee the resources,
  • Prevent the violence and modify social standards which give rise to violence and normalize it,
  • Respond adequately, ensuring access to essential services, and
  • Collect data and information to build better policies that prevent, address and sanction the violence against women and girls.

Taking action

Nuvoil and its male and female collaborators showed their solidarity with the survivors of gender violence and the position adopted by the Mexican Business Group of the energy sector in the fight for the Women’s rights by oranging the social network profile and the internal communication system during the 16 days of activism, using the #OrangeTheworld, #16Days and #GenerationEquality labels to start our own conversation regarding gender violence and disseminate messages both in English and Spanish.
