A year ago, in July 2016, nuvoil, Mexican operator group, installed one of the most innovative natural gas compression rigs at the Cantarell field, the largest in Mexico and the second in the world.
Under the new energy model in Mexico and the opportunity to integrate the most innovative and clean technologies to the projects to optimize the production of hydrocarbons, nuvoil validates its commitment to the sustainable growth of the energy sector in Mexico through the Agosto 12 rig project.
Since its installation, the goal of compressing more than 200 million cubic feet of gas per day has been reached, which is equivalent to optimizing production and reducing the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.
In this regard, Mariano Hernandez Palmeros, chairman of the board of directors said:
“A project of pride for Mexico mainly because it has been developed from and for our country; the results are tangible, we promote and make visible the specialized talent that exists. This technology emerged from engineers of Mexican nationality in collaboration with foreign companies. As a Mexican group, our responsibility is with our collaborators and the contribution to talent and industry development in Mexico.”
In addition, the Mexican group has got a position as a leading competitor in Upstream in natural gas production by becoming a field operator in 2015 when awarded the Benavides-Primavera field in Round 1.3 the largest territorial extension in that tender.
Aware of the development opportunities for the natural gas value chain, both onshore and offshore, nuvoil combines its proven experience, as it has more than 25% of the gas compression in Mexico, and its constant innovation by joining the program of the UN GHG Mexico, Quantification of Greenhouse Gases, confirming its commitment to comply with the Sustainable Development Goals 7, 8 and 9 of the United Nations Global Compact on Environmental Protection, one of the three pillars of sustainable development.
Nuvoil, as a Mexican group, has decided to get involved in the construction of a strategy that allows the sustainable development of the energy sector. Its management model
formally frames a social responsibility in three axes: economic, environmental and social. In 2016, due to this corporate philosophy, the group voluntarily decided to be part of the United Nations (UN) Global Compact and join the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 2017) of the 2030 Agenda.
Currently, the group has presence all over the Gulf of Mexico, it has started operations in the Pacific and celebrates 20 years of experience this 2017.
