One year after Nuvoil, Mexican business group, had started one of the pioneering projects in Mexico, the “Agosto 12″ Gas Compression Jack Up rig had a positive result in safety management with 8,928 hours of operation and zero accidents .
This result is a reflection of good operating practices and the way in which the group manages safety culture during the operation of its offshore and onshore projects in Mexico.
This culture comes out of its Management Model that became more robust in 2014 and integrates two pillars that support the decisions of its Corporate Governance:
Pillar 1. Corporate Social Responsibility based on the principles of the ISO 26000 Guide and the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN Global Compact.
Pillar 2. Integrated Management System (SGI) platform that facilitates the integration of management systems ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.

As per the value added by the IMS in the context of the opening of the Mexican energy market, IMS Manager Mauricio Borrero says:
“With the new energy model it is necessary to address the challenges and constant changes that this represents from innovation which is in the DNA of the group, in addition, the IMS methodology is based on compliance with regulation and national and international standards, it is a system of cultural practices, professional techniques, and above all, the fulfillment of the stakeholders´ expectation.”
In the context of this safety axis, the IMS manages risk from a cultural maturity model of safety that measures the degree of human behavior evolution and risk management through indicators in order to generate information for correct decision making.

Chronology of nuvoil´s Integrated Management System (IMS)
Nuvoil keeps up on the path to continue building its organizational culture, a culture with a proactive approach and a commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals, in this case number 8.
The Sustainable Development Objective no. 8 particularly refers to the promotion of “sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all,” and its goal 8.8 focuses on “protecting labor rights and promoting a safe and secure work environment for all workers, including migrant workers, particularly migrant women and people in precarious jobs”. As per goal 8.8, countries are asked to report on the following indicator: “Frequency rates of fatal and non-fatal occupational injuries, sorted out by sex and immigration status”.
Currently, the group has a 20-year history presence all over the Gulf of Mexico, it started operations in the Pacific and has aligned its strategy to the United Nations Global Compact. As a company from Veracruz, it has decided to become involved in the construction of a strategy that will allow the region’s economic development. Its management model formally frames a social responsibility in three axes: economic, environmental and social. In 2016, due to this corporate philosophy, the group voluntarily decided to be part of the United Nations (UN) Global Compact and join the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 2017) of the 2030 Agenda.
