Nuvoil Business Group, through its company named Geolis, and Universidad Veracruzana enter into a cooperation agreement which contemplates the future issue of two patents before the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property [Instituto Mexicano de la Propiedad Industrial (IMPI, by its Spanish acronym)].
Consolidating a strong cooperation work
Veracruz, Ver.- Last Friday, February 12th, at the Library and Information Services Unit [Unidad de Servicios Bibliotecarios y de Información (USBI)] of Universidad Veracruzana (UV) campus Veracruz, the general and specific agreements were entered into between Geolis S.A de C.V, company specialized in technology for exploitation of mature fields belonging to Nuvoil Group and the Maximum House of Studies in the State of Veracruz, consolidating a strong cooperation work, which has been performed since 2016, between the productive and academic sectors, thus laying the foundations for new advances and achievements in both the scientific and social field of the invention.
The cooperation agreement was signed by Sara Ladrón de Guevara, chancellor of Universidad Veracruzana and Jorge Luis Morales De la Mora, manager of Geolis S.A. de C.V., and José Edel Álvarez Delong, director general of Nuvoil Business Group also signs as a witness.
Additionally, the following personnel of UV were also present: Alfonso Gerardo Pérez Morales , Vice-Chancellor of campus Veracruz; Patricia Arieta, Outreach Director; and Paola Verde Añorve, Communication, Marketing and Social Responsibility Manager of Nuvoil Group.
This important technical-academic collaboration alliance between UV and Geolis will result in the development of the following inventions: the first one is a method and computer program for maximizing the efficiency of the jet pump in artificial lift hydraulic systems, and the second one is a device for gas separation in the multiphase flow of hydrocarbons.
In this regard, José Edel Álvarez Delong said that the agreement signature is an honor and pride for the Group he leads: “We are witnessing an act led by the cooperation of two organizations deeply committed to our country and our state. Additionally, for Nuvoil, which is governed by a Corporate Social Responsibility model, the alliance with UV is directly related to the ODS promoted by the United Nations, with which we have collaborated for more than 5 years now. Anyway, they are not just a figure; they are testimony that innovation in our country can be achieved through the commitment decided through the alliance cooperation like the one we entered into today”.
Additionally, he put special emphasis and thanked the researchers of the Maximum House of Studies in the State and the collaborators of Geolis company for their excellent performance for the development of two inventions in artificial lift systems for oil and gas production mature fields.
